What is this session about?

Most teams deploy resources first and think about governance later. Azure Landing Zones flip that model by codifying governance, networking, identity, and policy as the first thing deployed, not the last. Bicep is increasingly the tool of choice for landing zone deployments, and the Azure Landing Zones Bicep repository gives teams a production-grade starting point they can adapt.
In this session, we will cover:

• What a Landing Zone actually is and why it matters before the first workload is deployed
• The Azure Landing Zones Bicep repository: structure, modules, and what is included out of the box
• Deploying management groups, subscriptions, and policy assignments with Bicep
• Customizing the ALZ Bicep modules for your organization's networking and compliance requirements
• Integrating Landing Zone deployments with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions pipelines
• Drift detection and keeping your Landing Zone configuration in sync with deployed state

By the end of this session, attendees will understand how to bootstrap a governed Azure environment using the ALZ Bicep framework and wire it into a repeatable, automated deployment pipeline.
